Selecting appropriate Sunscreens for very fair skin is very important for long-term health of your skin.

You must already have seen the huge differences between the people who use sunscreen and people who don’t have in their old age.

To choose sunscreen for your skin, you need to understand your skin first. So let me just give you an overview of what you should be looking for in your sunscreen for fair skin.

What Is The Ideal Sunscreen For Pale Skin

Fair skin tends to burn very easily so you need to take extra precautions. You might have rosacea or redness so you need a sunscreen that actually protects you from UVB.

You should use a sunscreen that has UVB protection. Its even better if it has UVA as well but in general speaking, you are not susceptible to UVA. It’s the darker skin tones that are more susceptible to it.

Pale-skinned girlies should use sunscreens with SPF 20 or higher with UVB protection.

Mineral VS. Chemical Sunscreen For Pale Skin

As a matter of fact, both Chemical and Mineral Sunscreen work perfectly for Pale skin. It is the type of skin and your preference that will determine which one you should go for.

If you have sensitive skin or you don’t like your eyes to get a burning sensation, go for Mineral sunscreen. Because chemical sunscreen burns around the eyes. One downside of the mineral sunscreen is they usually leave a residue on the skin which doesn’t look good.

If you have acne-prone skin and need something that won’t clog your pores, go for chemical sunscreen as they get absorbed into the skin. Another advantage of chemical sunscreens is that they don’t leave a white cast on the skin. They are more aesthetically pleasing

Personally, I prefer mineral sunscreens because I hate the burning sensation that comes with Chemical SPF.

I have collected the both mineral and chemical sunscreen options for your pale skin. The mineral sunscreen in this list don’t have a white cast at all. And the chemical sunscreens have minimal burning sensation around the eyes.

Best Mineral Sunscreens For Pale Skin

1. Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion

Now, this little gem claims it’s for both face and body, and let me tell you, it is.

I’ve given it a whirl on both my face and body, and while it’s fantastic for the face, it’s the bomb diggity for the body. It looks so beautiful on the body and it smells divine!

And it does not leave a white cast since it’s a mineral sunscreen. I have tested this out in humidity and it lasts.

2. Summer Fridays Shadedrops

Summer Fridays Shadedrops is a zinc-based, non-water resistant sunscreen that glides on like silk and it’s very lightweight.

It can be a tad drying if you go solo with it. But you can apply some moisturizer underneath, and you’re good to glow!

It’s not super dewy, nor is it all matte and flat. Also, this sunscreen reapplies very easily and trust me, finding a mineral sunscreen that’s easy to reapply is very difficult.

3. Bliss Blockstar Invisible Daily Sunscreen

This sunscreen has antioxidant blend that helps control excess oil and minimize pores. So not only are you protected from the sun, but you’re also getting some skincare benefits too.

This sunscreen gives you this soft matte finish that blurs out imperfections.. And it’s waterproof too. I tested it out this one as well in a humid climate, and it held up like a champ.

4. Etude Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk SPF50+

This sunscreen is very light and airy. It doesn’t leave a white cast or irritate the skin.

I’ve gotta give props to its reapplication game, too. I applied this a couple of times throughout the day, and it blended right in without a trace.

If you’re all about that dewy, glowy look, this might not be your fav. It’s more on the mattifying side, which is great for my oily-skinned girlies tho.

5. Rovectin Skin Essentials Aqua Soothing UV Protector SPF 50

First off, let me just say, it’s got a PA4 plus rating, which is pretty solid for sun protection. It has a satin finish with maybe a hint of dewiness – not too shiny, not too matte.

It doesn’t leave you looking like a ghost. I’d give the amount of cast like a two or three out of ten – barely noticeable.

Plus, it plays well with makeup. It gives you that subtle brightening effect that I really prefer in a sunscreen.

6. Coppertone Pure And Simple Baby Sunscreen

This sunscreen is one of my favorite sunscreens for super pale skin as it’s very gentle since it’s formulated for babies. Plus, it’s made with 100% zinc oxide, which is great for sun protection.

It’s also super soothing and hydrating. And the best part is that it leaves behind a dewy, plump finish that I know a lot of you prefer.

It’s got a bit of a cast when you first apply it, but nothing too crazy – I’d rate it a solid three or four out of ten.

7. Pipette Mineral Sunscreen

This sunscreen is seriously hydrating. It leaves a mildly dewy finish without being greasy. Perfect for wearing under makeup.

It leaves the skin looking young, plump, fresh, and dewy while protecting from sun effectively.

I’ve even ditch my makeup on some days because this sunscreen makes me feel that confident.

Best Chemical Sunscreens For Pale Skin

8. Beauty Of Joseon Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics

This sunscreen went viral for a reason – it dries down to practically nothing. Plus, it’s hydrating and feels great on the skin.

But when I put it around my eyes, I noticed a slight burning sensation. It’s not much though. Not anything compared to other chemical sunscreens that I have tried.

I am sensitive to chemicals in the sunscreen, but if you are used to it, you are gonna love this one. It doesn’t have even a tiny bit white cast.

9. Etude Sunprise Mild Watery Light SPF 50+

This is the type of sunscreen that doesn’t feel like a thick, greasy mask on your face. It’s very lightweight, and feels like nothing on the skin.

Now, I put this bad boy to the ultimate test – the eye area. But the burning sensation was barely there – just a hint of it nothing crazy.

10. Elta MD UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46

This sunscreen feels very luxurious. Plus, it dries down completely clear with zero white cast.

Now, I’m a bit sensitive to chemical sunscreens, especially around the eyes. But surprisingly, this one didn’t give me too much grief in that department.

It’s also got niacinamide in there too. Some people find that stuff a tad irritating, so if you’ve got sensitive skin, you might wanna tread carefully.

Best Tinted Sunscreens For Pale Skin

11. Bioderma Photoderm spf 50+

Let me tell you, this sunscreen is a lifesaver, especially if you have rosacea or redness. Unlike some other tinted sunscreens, the tint here is much lighter and blends like a dream on paler skin tones.

It’s smooth, lightweight, and doesn’t feel like you’ve slathered on a layer of grease. It’s a chemical sunscreen, so no need to worry about white cast.

13. Neostrata Sheer Physical Protection Sunscreen

I have a soft spot for products that multitask, and this one fits the bill.  It offers some coverage while protecting your skin from the sun.

And, it’s lightweight. Like, seriously feather-light. You won’t feel like you’re wearing a mask.

It’s got a peachy hue that works wonders for masking any bluish discoloration, like those veins. Plus, it’s a dream for super pale or very fair skin tones.

14. Ilia Skin Tint

This is a really nice skin tint and you wouldn’t even need to put on makeup on top of this. It covers enough to even out your skin tone and it has a lot of shades for very fair skin.

I know it’s not the best idea to rely solely on a skin tint to protect you from the sun, but to be honest I have been using this for a while and had no problem.

Still, if you want to play it safe, you can apply it on top of another sunscreen. Check out these Ilia skin tint dupes.

15. Heliocare 360 Mineral Tolerance Fluid

Helio 360 water gel sunscreen

You know about Polypodium leukomodus? Well, it fights off the evil sun damage when ingested orally. But Helio has thrown it into this sunscreen.

From my humble experience does a pretty decent job at sun protection. It’s a mineral sunscreen, so you know you’re getting broad-spectrum protection without the greasy, pilly mess.

Plus, it’s tinted and the shade is very suitable for super pale skin girlies.

Takeaway

So, these were my recommendations. I hope you find a sunscreen that YOUR skin loves. If you have a holy grail, do share it in the comments so that other pale girlies can benefit from it. Bye Bye, See ya!
