YSL Libre Notes

Top Notes

Lavender, Mandarin Orange, Black Currant and Petitgrain

The opening of YSL Libre is a burst of freshness and sophistication. Lavender, with its aromatic and herbaceous quality, intertwines with zesty Mandarin Orange, creating a lively and invigorating start. Black Currant adds a touch of sweetness, while Petitgrain contributes a slightly bitter, green citrus nuance. This combination sets the stage for a vibrant and energetic introduction.

As the fragrance evolves, the heart notes emerge, introducing a captivating floral symphony. Lavender makes a second appearance, now more refined and complemented by the sweet, honeyed tones of Orange Blossom. Jasmine, with its heady and sensual aroma, adds a layer of floral opulence. The middle notes bring a sense of femininity and elegance to the composition.

The base is marked by a warm and alluring scent. Madagascar Vanilla introduces a creamy sweetness, wrapping the fragrance in a comforting embrace. Musk contributes a subtle, skin-like sensuality, enhancing the overall allure. Cedarwood adds depth with its woody and aromatic facets, creating a solid foundation. Finally, Ambergris imparts a touch of marine freshness, providing a nuanced and intriguing conclusion to the olfactory journey.

Faint People In Pleasure With These 11 YSL Libre Dupes

1. Zara Golden Decade

YSL Libre Dupes: Zara Golden Decade
YSL Libre Dupes Winner: Zara Golden Decade

Zara is like the king of creating dupes of designer perfumes. I have a whole list of Zara perfumes that are dupes for designer fragrance (click on the link to check it out). The Golden Decade is all about that addictive dreaminess. It kicks off with a burst of freshness from Mandarin, Bergamot, and Orange Blossom, paving the way for a woody floral journey with notes of incense, Jasmine, and lavender. It has a very sophisticated and sexy vibe to it that’s bound to turn heads.

This perfume quickly became a favorite of mine. And not only by me but every one says that it’s one of the YSL Libre dupes. But I would say, it sits somewhere in between the two but leans a tad more towards the OG version.

It lasts a pretty long time for me. I know there are many people who think that Zara perfumes does not last long but trust me, it does. At least on me it lasts for about 6 hours and I have pretty dry skin in winter. I have a guide on how to make Zara perfumes last longer if you want to check it out click here: How to make Zara perfumes last longer.

Key Notes

  • Top notes: Mandarin Orange
  • Middle notes: Jasmine, Orange Blossom and Lavender
  • Base notes: Vanilla

2. Alhambra Libbra

Now, the experience of spraying it is like stepping into a garden of lavender and florals. It’s not overpowering but maintains a fresh and enticing aura. You immediately won’t get the black currant, but the vanilla sweetness and a hint of citrus make it a delightful blend. Perfect for those special occasions or a night out!

Performance-wise, you can get a solid six hours of wear. The projection is gonna be strong in the first hour, and gradually settle down. Considering the price point, it’s impressive. I find it perfect for evenings or when I want to feel a bit more dressed up.

Now, let’s talk versatility. I work in various environments, and this fragrance holds up well. It’s suitable for different occasions, but personally, I reserve it for those special nights. It’s become a favorite of mine, and I’ve already gone through one bottle.

Key Notes

  • Top notes: Lavender, Mandarin, Black Currant, Petitgrain
  • Middle notes: Lavender, Jasmine, Orange (fleur-de-lis)
  • Base notes: Ambergris, Vanilla, Cedar, Musk

3. Dossier Floral Lavender

Dossier is also known for creating their own versions of popular designer fragrances just like Zara.

With the first spray, you will be immediately hit with a balanced burst of citrus. The neroli isn’t overpowering but adds a fresh twist. The black currant note, rather than being fruity, leans musky, and gives off a flirtatious and sensual vibe.

Now, let’s talk about the heart – jasmine, lavender, and orange blossom. Despite the name, Floral Lavender, it’s not an overwhelming lavender bomb. Instead, it’s a delightful combination of lavender and jasmine. The jasmine here is clean, fresh, and not overly indolic. It blends seamlessly with the citrusy overtone, making it very likable and accessible.

As it dries down, a mild touch of vanilla comes into play, accompanied by amber and musk. The musk is more prominent and gives it a bit of depth. Don’t expect a gourmand experience, but the vanilla and musk add to the overall charm.

Key Notes

  • Top notes: Mandarin, Lavender, Orange Blossom
  • Middle notes: Jasmine, Lavender, Orange Blossom
  • Base notes: Vanilla, Amber, Musk

4. Bath & Body Works Fairytale

When I first opened Fairy Tale, my initial thought was, “This smells like Alien by Thierry Mugler.” However I noticed similarities between this and YSL Libre later.

Fairytale is fresher, brighter, airier, and cleaner compared to Libre Intense. The latter is sexier, deeper, and more intense. While they share similarities, Fairy Tale leans towards a lighter, daytime fragrance.

Initially, I was thinking of returning Fairy Tale because I wasn’t enjoying it much. But the jasmine note in Fairy Tale is growing on me. One thing I don’t like about this is its longevity. It hardly lasts 3 hours on me and the bottle is just not small enough to carry in my purse.

To sum it up, if you love Libre Intense and want a sexier, deeper version, you’ll likely enjoy Fairy Tale. If you enjoy jasmine and vanilla in a rich, intense scent, Fairy Tale is worth a try. However, they’re not identical. They have a lot of similarities but a bit different vibe.

Key Notes

  • Notes: Orange blossom, Vanilla, Amber, Pomegranate

5. Sam Edelman Signature EDP

Now, this fragrance is a floral wonder, and it’s green without being earthy or too patchouli-heavy. It’s like a moist, juicy green – not your typical dried green scent. There’s a touch of mimosa that adds that sparkle, and it’s just refined beauty in a bottle.

I recommend around five to six sprays with this, maybe more if you’re feeling extra. It’s got a decent scent bubble, hugging close to the skin but leaving a delightful trail. And if you’re worried about staining your clothes, be cautious with whites – it’s got a bit of tint. Maybe spray the inside of your garment for safety.

The dry down is where the magic happens, with that woody anchor making sure it lingers on. It’s like a beautifully sweet green floral symphony. I haven’t taken it out for a spin yet, but I’m eager to see how it performs.

Key Notes

  • Top notes: Mimosa and floral notes
  • Middle notes: Green notes, Margarita, and floral notes
  • Base notes: Sandalwood and woody notes

6. Solinotes Orange Blossom

Here’s a weird thing – for the first 15-20 minutes, it kinda smells like cat pee. Yeah, I know, weird. But hang in there, because after that, it dries down into this sweet, creamy orange with a musky twist that’s actually quite pleasant and similar to YSL Libre. I won’t say exactly the same though but reminiscent.

Longevity? A solid six hours for a citrus scent, which is pretty darn good. It becomes a skin scent around the four-hour mark, but, you can always reapply if you’re feeling fancy.

It projects like a champ for the first hour, creating a little bubble around you, and then settles into a detectable skin scent. Oh, and a heads up, there’s a faint floral note just like YSL Libre.

Key Notes

  • Top Notes: Petitgran, Bergamot, Lemon
  • Middle Notes: Water Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Rose
  • Base Notes: Honey Musk

7. Victoria’s Secret Harvest Moon Gaze

When I spritzed this in the store, I got major YSL Libre vibes. And guess what? I hadn’t even watched any reviews or hauls that day, so it was a blind sniff, you know?

Now, me break it down. Harvest Moon Gaze is like the distant cousin of YSL Libre. It’s got that fresh lavender, sequoia glow, and a vibe that screams “under the sky.

Straight-up, when you spray it, that Libre feeling hits you, but here’s the twist – there’s an extra dash of sexy in Harvest Moon Gaze. I’m talking sensual, boss chick energy. It’s like Libre’s sophisticated sibling who knows how to turn up the heat.

Harvest Moon Gaze is one of my favorite YSL Libre dupes. It’s got that same sexiness but cranks up the feminine vibes, dialing down a bit on the Libre’s masculine touch.

Key Notes

  • Notes: Lavender, Sequoia

8. Oil Perfumery-Libre

Oil perfumery Impression Of YSL Libre doesn’t play around – it’s a dead ringer for the iconic YSL Libre. You get that same empowering blend of lavender, orange blossom, and musk, making you feel like a boss every time you wear it. It’s a dupe that doesn’t mess around when it comes to capturing the essence of the original.

But here’s the best part – the longevity. You know how some perfumes fade away faster than you can say “spritz”? Well, not with this oil. It’s like a scent marathon – long-lasting and consistent, keeping you smelling fantastic from dawn till dusk.

And the convenience? Don’t even get me started. A little dab goes a long way, and you can easily toss this cute bottle into your bag for a fragrance pick-me-up whenever you please.

Key Notes

  • Top notes: Lavender, Mandarin Orange, Black Currant, and Petitgrain
  • Middle notes: Lavender, Orange Blossom and Jasmine
  • Base notes: Madagascar Vanilla, Musk, Cedar, and Ambergris

9. Alt Liberty

You will notice that initially, Alt Liberty is seriously strong. It hits you with orange blossom and a hint of lavender, creating this captivating aroma that lingers.

The notes in Alt Liberty closely mirror the YSL Libre, with lavender, orange blossom, and vanilla extract. On the skin, Alt Liberty is smoother and more refined, maybe a touch more lavender. But on the scent scale, these babies are close. Alt Liberty leans a bit stronger and gives very bold vibes.

BTW, shall I tell you a surprising fact? Alt Liberty lasts even longer than YSL Libre. I know sounds like a bluff but it’s true.

Key Notes

  • Notes: Lavender, Black Currant and Orange

10. Divain Libre

Divain 602 will give you a burst of sophistication with first spritz, much like YSL Libre. The initial spray gives a mix of floral and oriental notes that blend together very well. Picture lavender, orange blossom, and vanilla weaving together to create an aroma that’s undeniably reminiscent of YSL Libre.

As Divain 602 settles on the skin, the notes continue to play their sweet, sultry melody. The hints of musk and amber add depth, ensuring the fragrance lingers and captivates throughout the day.

The resemblance is striking, capturing the empowering and luxurious aura that Libre is celebrated for. You will literally get the essence of Libre at a fraction of the cost.

Key notes

  • Top Notes: Tangerine, Lavender, Blackcurrants and Petitgrain
  • Middle notes: Jasmine, Lavender and Orange Blossom
  • Base notes: Madagascar Vanilla, Cedar, Grey Amber, and Musk

11. Fragrance World Liberty Perfume

First off, the scent is remarkably similar to YSL Libre. Both perfumes have this elegant and modern vibe, with that lovely blend of lavender and orange blossom. It’s like a breath of fresh air! So, if you’re into that luxurious YSL scent, you won’t be disappointed with Liberty.

Another awesome thing about Liberty is its long-lasting power. You spray it in the morning, and it sticks around all day, just like the YSL Libre. You don’t have to worry about reapplying it constantly.

Plus, the bottle design is sleek and classy, just like the YSL bottle. You won’t even be able to see much of a difference on your vanity.

Key Notes

  • Top Notes: Lavender, Mandarin, Petitgrain, Blackcurrant
  • Middle notes: Jasmine, Lavender and Orange Blossom
  • Base notes: Vanilla, Cedar, Amber, and Musk
